The major party I referred to a year ago in http://community.livejournal.com/stevewinwood/23670.html is upon us. :)

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are doing today's halftime show. Given that Steve is opening for them on their forthcoming tour (stevewinwood.com has dates), does anybody here think that Steve will have some role in the halftime show?

It's back. :) Aug. 7th, 2007 @ 10:52 pm

Even his own official site, stevewinwood.com, is out of date.

According to http://www.stevewinwood.com/bio.full.htm . . . 'At 57 years old, Steve Winwood has logged one of the most esteemed careers of the rock era . . .', and nobody reading this would dispute that.

Except that he's 59 today, not 57.

I think I detect a major party this time next year.

Our mod and I live about 800 km (500 miles) apart from each other in Canada, and I think neither one of us would mind a tour stop . . . would we?

Happy Birthday, Steve.

Many Winwood videos gone from YouTube Feb. 11th, 2007 @ 04:40 pm

'Still in the Game', live versions of 'Back in the High Life' AND 'While You See A Chance' - copyright claim from Viacom.

'Back in the High Life' - terms of use violation.

'Hearts on Fire' is gone, too . . . not sure why.

As I write this, only the 4-minute 'While You See A Chance' is still there.

I am supremely unhappy. :(

He winged it. He absolutely, completely, thoroughly, totally winged it.

» A couple of questions about SW videos
Hi, all.

Wondering if anyone knows of any legitimate sites that have Steve's 'Still in the Game' video. Just checked YouTube, and they don't (although a gal named Barbara Dickson does what I think is a pretty credible remake). (See my January 14, 2007 post entitled Still in the Game video.)

Also, was a video for the full-length (5:15) version of 'While You See A Chance' ever made? Again, YouTube provides the short (4 minute) version and an awesome live concert version, but . . . .

Thanks, from the guy new to this group, but old enough to remember 'While You See A Chance' (I was in grade 11 in 1981, and it remains my all-time favorite song).
» CBS show thingy...
The show 'twas good. And I got to see a taste of the Blind Faith show, which should be coming out in May. Finally.
» sort of short notice...
Hi all,

Steve Winwood (and his 16th century home) will be featured tomorrow morning on the CBS News. Mark Phillips will be talking to Steve about forty years of Classic rock. yay.

Check your local listings for times and such.
